From Manny Martinez:

“This is in memory of Don Gay. Today, I received some sad news about an old friend of mine. Donald Gay had passed away on April 9, 2019. He had Alzheimer’s, a disease that has taken to many of our loved ones and very close friends! Don was the First President of Gabilan Cutter’s. He along with other people helped form that club and what it is today. I know one of his is greatest moments was winning the Junior cutting at the Cow Palace in 2008. And watching my mare, Smart Lena¬†Gees winning the Senior cutting. Both mares were ridden by Jason Haefner. Winning the Cow Palace buckle was something he always treasured.¬†

His services will be held on April 27th, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Red Buff, California. Visitation at 9:30am till 11:15am. Gravesite at 11:30 am.

The mare that won the Junior cutting at the Cow Palace was an own daughter of Smart Little Rondee out of Sandy Ann Wes.”
